Covid-19 Practices & Policies

Our program is following guidance from CDC and CDPHE for Child Care programs. These policies are ever-changing and we are constantly working to stay up-to-date on policies so that we ensure safe & healthy care options for our families!

Please be patient and bear with us as some policy updates require changes in our programs.

Current guidance from the CDC for Child Care programs can be found here.

Here are some social distancing and health practices we are currently implementing in our programs:

  • Sign In/Out: Our staff members will be signing each student in and out at drop off and pick up. This is one of the many ways we are working at not sharing germs. As you enter the program, we will ask for you to show us your I.D. and will sign your child in for you. Same at pick up

    • Please maintain a distance of 6 feet from other parents and children at drop off and pick up.

  • Handwashing: We are asking each child to immediately wash hands as they enter our program as well as any time we transition to another area.  The staff is constantly washing their hands throughout the day to prevent any spread of germs.

  • Cleaning: Our staff will be disinfecting tables and chairs prior to children arriving each day and at closing each shift.  At the end of each day all our toys and items the children have used will be disinfected thoroughly, ready for the next day.

  • Group Sizes: Childcares are currently able to operate at full license capacity in Mesa County.

  • Masks: As of May 12, 2020 – children are only recommended (not required) to wear their masks.  That will be an option that the parents can choose.  If a child is wearing a mask we will ask the child to remove the mask to eat snack, eat lunch and when they are out at recess.  Staff at this time are required to wear masks when working within 6 feet of children.  If they are giving whole group instruction they can remove their mask to enable children to understand them.  If these recommendations or requirements change we will notify all parents immediately so they can prepare their child appropriately.

  • Screening: We ask that each parent check to be sure your child is not running a fever prior to arrival and shows no signs of possible COVID.  (Those symptoms are listed on the State of Colorado Early Childhood Site under COVID symptoms for children.)  If you or your child have been exposed to someone testing positive for COVID, awaiting a test for COVID, or with possible COVID symptoms we ask that you follow strict the State recommendations for self quarantine and alert our main office.

    • Please keep your child at home if you have ANY reservations about sickness or possible COVID exposure.
